The Town Where No One Got Off

“The Town Where No One Got Off”
Ray Bradbury In “The Town Where No One Got Off,” claims that story while traveling by train, there was a salesman needed to get off the train and settle in a small town .when the salesman got off the train, he saw an old man sitting on the station-platform. He has been waiting him since twenty years. However, the salesman didn’t care about him, and he kept walking to a small bar. The old man fallows him there, and he they talked to each other. While they were talking, the old man was holding the salesman’s elbow by the left hand, and the other hand was in his pocket. Then, he said “if I kill you and get you into the river, there is no body will know anything.” The salesman was afraid and he put his hand into his pocket and said “me too, I have a really bad day, and I just came here to kill someone and throw him into the river.” After that, the old man felt a little scared, and everyone went to other way.

Summing up, the author needs to give a massage which said that there are many people in the world have troubles in their life, so we should not bother people. In general, I agree with the author that we have to take care when we need to contact the people. However, there are some missing in this story such as why the old man was sitting in the station about twenty years? Also, what will happen to the salesman after he has left the old man? Indeed, it was an interesting story in general, so I would recommend it for people how like an ambiguous reading.
